AI-made shooter games

A shooter is a subgenre of action games focused on defeating enemies with ranged weapons the game gives the player. The core loop is to aim and fire, dodge incoming fire, and move on to the next wave or area, relying on spatial awareness and reflexes. Subgenres include shoot 'em ups such as Space Invaders, first-person shooters such as Doom, and third-person shooters.

Shooters need projectiles and hit detection, enemies driven by code, and rules for ammunition and health. The camera depends on the subgenre: a fixed or scrolling screen for shoot 'em ups, a first-person or third-person view in 3D. Shooters played against other people also need multiplayer networking.

First-person shooters in a browser use the Pointer Lock API, which hides the cursor and reports raw mouse movement so the view can turn without limit. It only activates after a click or another user gesture.
