How games get here

Creators submit their games, and we also find games in game jams and on GitHub. Every game is reviewed before it's listed, and nothing is published automatically. The editorial policy lists every rule.

How rankings work

Rankings come from player votes, not from us. Players rate games from 1 to 5 stars, one vote per device. The lists use a Bayesian average: each game starts with a score worth 10 votes. That score is its placement in a ranked game jam, or the middle of the ranked jam games for every other game. Real votes take over as they come in, so one 5-star vote can't crown a new game.

Rankings aren't for sale. A game in a Spotlight slot is labeled Spotlight, and the slot never changes its rating or rank.

What “made with AI” means here

AI wrote a substantial part of the game's code, directed by a person. We go by what the creator says, or by the rules of the jam the game was made for.

Every game page has a “How it was made” section that shows:

• The AI models and tools, and the engine when it's known.
• How much of the code AI wrote: all, most or part of it.
• Where that claim comes from, such as the creator's README.

If the creator never said how much AI wrote, the page says that too.

Every listing is a file in a public repository, gamesbyai/catalog on GitHub, licensed CC BY 4.0. Reuse the data with credit, or suggest a correction with a pull request.
