About The Rite

The Rite is a player-versus-player arena shooter that runs in the browser. Players join a match, move around the arena, and fight each other in fast, close-range firefights. It supports multiplayer and also works on mobile devices, so a round can start from a phone or a desktop.

The game is inspired by classic arena shooters in the vein of Unreal Tournament, a series the creator points out no longer gets a new release alongside each Unreal Engine version. It aims to bring that fast, competitive deathmatch style back in a lightweight web form.

It was entered in Vibe Jam 2026, where it placed 16th out of 945 entries. The creator built it with Claude Code, and it renders with Three.js.
