Alien Orbital Assault

Alien Orbital Assault is a vertical shoot-'em-up built around a single boss fight. The boss sits behind a ring of orbiting drones. Clear every drone to open a short vulnerability window, then hit the boss hard before it closes. If you miss the chance, the drones return in greater numbers and tougher than before. You get five lives and no continues.

Destroyed ships give you no points. They release corrupted Earth matter, called Substrate, which serves as ammunition and fuel, so every shot is a spending decision. You begin with the Vulcan Cannon. One orbiter always carries a weapon drop that unlocks the Shotgun Blaster or the Latch Beam Projector, and each weapon upgrades across three tiers. Deciding whether to chase the upgrade or rush the window drives each run.

The game was part of the AI Browser Game Jam 2. Its page discloses AI assistance for code, graphics, sounds, and text. It runs in the browser and supports keyboard, mouse, Xbox controller, and touchscreen, with configurable controls, a high-contrast option, and an interactive tutorial. A session lasts about half an hour.
