AI-made management and tycoon games

Management and tycoon games are construction and management simulations, where players build, expand or manage fictional communities or projects with limited resources. Tycoon games are the subset that simulates economies and businesses. The core loop is to build or buy something, watch income and demand respond, and reinvest to grow. SimCity (1989), Railroad Tycoon (1990) and RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999) are classic examples.

Underneath, these games run an economy where resources are produced, consumed and exchanged. The code needs budget rules, prices and costs, and a way to lose, such as running out of money or popular opinion. Simulated agents such as citizens or guests respond to what the player builds and are seldom given direct orders.

In a browser, the economy can tick at a constant rate separate from drawing, and a Web Worker can run a large simulation in a background thread so the main thread isn't slowed down.
