open case

Open Case is a murder mystery about a reopened homicide investigation. The player goes through the case evidence, looks for statements and facts that contradict each other, and fills in a Casebook made up of six answers. Once the Casebook is complete, the final report goes in.

The structure keeps the focus on deduction. Instead of chasing action, the player compares the material on hand and works out who the killer is from what does not add up. The six-answer Casebook gives each run a clear checklist to work toward and a defined end point.

The game was entered in Vibe Jam 2026. The creator's submission lists Claude Code as the tool used to build it, and it is set up to work on mobile as well as desktop.
