Next Token Please

In Next Token Please you play the language model. Instead of typing prompts and reading replies, you sit on the model's side and build text by choosing the next token, one at a time, until a whole sentence takes shape.

The appeal is the role swap. Most people have spent time prompting chatbots, and this puts them in the position of the thing being prompted. Claude Code was used to make it for Vibe Jam 2026, where it placed 112th of 945, and it works on phones too.

Each pick is the same kind of decision a model makes at every step of generating a sentence. The game sits between a puzzle, a simulation and a small educational lesson, and the aim is a feel for how text gets predicted.
