About Escape From Xibalba

Escape From Xibalba is a first-entry-into-darkness maze crawl set in Xibalba, the Maya underworld. Each run generates a new maze. You move through its corridors lighting torches, taking relics, and facing bosses, all while looking for an exit that may not exist.

The procedural layout means the dark corridors change from run to run, and light is part of the tension: torches are how you push back the gloom. Relics and boss encounters give the crawl clear milestones, and the premise keeps a sense of dread about whether escape is even possible.

The game was built in Three.js as an entry in Vibe Jam 2026. The creator used Claude Code and said they had always wanted to make a game and treated the jam as the push to finally do it.
