Step Lightly
Sneak through a dark ranch house where every footstep lights your way and alerts a monster
About Step Lightly
Step Lightly is a first-person stealth horror game set in a dark ranch house. The player moves through the rooms while a monster hunts nearby. Footsteps are the only source of light, so each step reveals a little of the surroundings and also makes noise the creature can follow.
Movement, visibility, and danger all hang on one mechanic. Walking lets you see but gives your position away, while standing still keeps you quiet and leaves you blind. That trade-off turns each room into a question of when to step and when to wait, with the monster reacting to the sounds you make.
The creator built it with Bolt and Three.js for Vibe Jam 2026, where it placed 639th out of 945 entries. The creator says the aim was to tie movement, visibility, and danger to a single mechanic.
